Creative Tuesdays ~ Oak Trees

A second post from me today ~ I must be on a roll ;)

This time around, Michael, our host at Creative Tuesdays has asked us to depict Oak Trees, in whatever way takes our fancy.

I used a mixture of sketching and stamping, and did my colouring with watercolour pencils and an aqua brush.

I found an image on google for the oak tree and the stamps I used were the Acorn Faerie set from Designs by Ryn.  The sweet Song of the Acorn Fairy is by an early 20th Century English illustrator called Cicely Mary Barker.  I wrote the song on a tag onto which I had stamped a few oak leaves and acorns on top of some pale green watercolour paint.  I have since stuck the tag onto the page it is sitting on.

I hope you will have time to visit the other blogs in the co-op and see their depictions of Oak Trees.

Until next time...........
..............thanks for popping by to say 'Hi' *hugs*

  3. Oh Twinkle Toes...I think your oak tree is wonderful. I love old oaks and I would sit under that one any day. Perhaps we could have a picnic. I like that you share your method. I'm back from our trip, and I have an idea for my oak...now got to get busy and do it!! Sending hugs and smiles.

  5. Very Creative dear TT. thank you! I'm enjoying your interpretation of the interplay between the oak tree fairy and the squirrel. I also really like how you did the tree's bark. Alot of details here than pulls you in. Glad you had fun with, even adding in that poem which I think I've actually 'read before...a long long time ago in a galaxy far, far away! :) (school days!). B
BTW, I have NOT forgotten that I still need to mail your prize. You wouldn't believe how difficult it can be to get to the post office here. Generally, a lot easier in the UK for sure.

    1. Thanks Michael, I'm so happy that you like my effort.Everyone is always so generous with their words. I also love your own oak tree and fox friends.
I will expect my prize whenever it arrives and not before. So don't you go bothering too much about it. I'm a firm believer that Royal Mail is the best in the world, but that is of IMHO.
Also, I am so delighted to hear that Alexandra is improving daily and is able to do some wee sketches and catch up some of her homework and take part in her exams. :o))
