T Stands for Tea on Tuesday

A second post, hot on the heels of my journal page, but it's time for Tea on Tuesday with our hostess Elizabeth, from Altered Book Lover, and the other nice folks posting their tea talk too, (hehe).

I got a really fun gift a few days ago. Want to see it?

It's Fred the ManaTEA! Haha! :D Isn't he cute?!  I already had the mini mug, but I had to show him off, in-situ didn't I?!
He was bought for me, so that I could better enjoy this >>>>>

My very favourite drink of tea! I am allergic to oranges (it gives me migraines), so I have always avoided drinking Lady Grey because of it's citrus undertones. But I managed to get a tester bag, and I was fine, and I discovered my love for it. YaaY!!
I may get me a nice teapot one day. Just for me. Well there's only I would use it, in a house of men. ;)

I also enjoy other teas including fruit mixes and Nettle & Spearmint in the evening.

If you would like to join Elizabeth's T-Team, please follow this link and post about your favourite beverage; we'd love to read about it.

Until next time............

Q & L #17

This fortnight, The Craft Barn's Quotes & Lyrics challenge brings us the words Peaceful and Grace. We are to use one or both of the words from a Quote and/or a Lyric.

If you would like to find out more about the challenge and the rules, go here. If you want to jump right in and join in or just see what others have created for the current words, then go here.

I chose to use the word Peaceful, and after hunting for a while I found a quote that I liked.

I used a mixture of Dylusion sprays, distress paints, watercolour paints, watercolour pencils and the stamps are from Rubber Dance Art Stamps

The fabulous quote is by Mandy Hale.

Painting Practice

I took this photograph on August 5th this year.

These are the first blackberries on the little bush that I planted two years ago. With encouragement from my online friends, I thought I would have a go at painting it.

I used my Koh-I-Noor paints, and what luscious colours they are.
I'm quite pleased with what I did, but had some problems mixing sufficient of the green paint in one go. Also, I'm not overly keen on the background, but have been given an idea by Pam Robinson that I am going to try. I will update this post with a new picture if I am successful.

Edited to add tweaked image:

As you can see I added some splats, which were Pam Robinson's idea, but I also added some darklights on the berries and stems as suggested by my blog friend Tracey Fetcher King who just happens to be a most amazing artist with mucho patience for giving me advice. So thank you Tracey ((hugs)) and thank you Pamikins ((hugs)). I am much happier with it now and can see how the additions have helped.
Now, what's next?........... ;-)

Until next time..............

Craft Barn Q & L Challenge #16

The latest challenge at The Craft Barn is #16 and the words are Thing or Family. I am very late for this one. Number 17 is due to be announced in just two days time, *gasp*! That's how late I am. But, I have done a wee page and I'm happy with it.

We are to use a quote and/or a lyric including one or both of the words. I chose the word Family and my quote, with no attribution, is, 'Family makes this house a home'

The background is Neo 2 blues, smooshed around with a babywipe. The sunburst is a TH stencil that I coloured with paint, inktense pencils, oil pastel and Yasutomo shimmery paint, (similar to Twinkling H20s) . The house is made with paper scraps and inktense pencils for the window and door. I like the wee birdie stamps ;) and I used my micron pen for the writing.

If you'd like to see what other people have done using the words Family &  Thing, just follow the link above.

Until next time......................

T Stands for Tea on Tuesday

I am so happy to be able to join in with this visual ode to tea again this week. Our lovely hostess Elizabeth, from the Altered Book Lover, invites us to join in with T stands for Tea on Tuesday and post a picture about tea each week, although we don't strictly have to drink tea, nor does the picture have to be taken on a Tuesday ;)

However, my pictures were taken on a Tuesday ;)  Last Tuesday to be exact. I was on an adventure with my Wee Man to Edinburgh. And if you'd like to read some of what he got up to during our trip and through his Summer Holidays, please go here.

I was so excited to find a lovely little cafe called The Purple Pig, where they serve the most delicious food.

However, it was breakfast we were after, and boy did they deliver!

Freshly made porridge with fresh  fruit

and toast made from bread made on the premises :D

Are you drooling yet? I nearly was, haha.
Wee Man had pancakes, which I forgot to photograph before he tucked in. They were freshly made too of course and having persuaded a little sharing, found they were so delicious!

My favourite visual tho', was this.

Isn't it pretty?! And it tasted perfect.

I then took some other photographs around the place.

I resisted these, but with all the intentions of going back to buy some, but it didn't work out that way. *Sigh*

A purple pig stood on a window display.

I liked the triptych on the wall

and I liked this view, (just couldn't get it straight tho').

I love this clock! Wee Man says I can make one, haha. Bless his faith.

School is back in after the Summer holidays, and even tho' I do have a different set of commitments, I should have more me time. So lets play! If you would like to jon in with T stands for Tea on Tuesday, then please do.

But until next time..............

My Summer Holiday

My Summer holidays were very exciting. I had six and a half weeks off school. My birthday was in the holiday and now I am 7.

I finished the ICAD challenge. I made 50 ICADs and lots of new friends.
I had lots of fun in my paddling pool
enjoyed walks in the sunshine
 playing at the playground
riding on nice buses
and eating in different places.
But the best adventure of my holiday was going to Edinburgh and I slept in a guest house.
I went on the Festival Wheel 8 times. The Festival Wheel is 50 metres tall but the London Eye is 120 metres. I went on the London Eye when I went to London in October 2013.

I went to the zoo.
I made a new bear in a workshop and his name is Rainbow Bear.
The ticket man on the tram gave Rainbow Bear his own ticket but he didn't have to pay
and the driver let me sit in her cab and I rang the bell 2 times.
I enjoyed rolling down the hill near the castle
and I enjoyed getting back home again
I am looking forward to going back to school. I start Primary 3 tomorrow.

Happy Mail

I got a letter from America on Wednesday. It was off Jenny Pesavento. I know her from Icad and she is my friend.

I was very excited because it only took 5 days to get here. I hope she gets my card soon.

I like the smiley face.

I got lots of Icads, stickers, funny money she said I can draw on and a book to read at bedtime but I am taking it to Edinburgh with me on Monday.
Jenny sent nice things to Granny as well. Jenny is very kind.

T stands for Tea on Tuesday

I have followed 'T Stands for Tea on Tuesday' from the sidelines for quite a while, and fancied joining in.  I was unsure how to, so I asked the hostess, Elizabeth, from Altered Book Lover, if it was ok to join in and she very kindly said, ' Feel free to join in anytime. We welcome new members and those who visit on occasion' Isn't that lovely? I understand that the photo's don't need to be taken on a Tuesday but should relate in someway to a drink.

So without further twaddle ado, here is my first post.

Wee Man had an appointment at the Orthotic clinic on Monday and on the way home, much to his delight, we stopped here for lunch >>>

It is an old bus coach. And Wee Man loves buses!

The 'Pitstop' is a little cafe down the A96 between Inverurie and Huntly, on the right coming from Aberdeen. We had seen it before as we've passed on the train but we'd never been that way in a car as we don't own one. A good friend loaned me her car for the appointment, 80 miles away, so this was a real bonus for our wee bus fan.

I was too nervous, expecially with it being a fairly cramped area, to take any pictures of the inside, sorry. What do you say to the proprietors when you want to take photo's of their place?

The food was very basic but it was freshly cooked and very tasty and the coffee hit just the right spot. It got a huge thumbs up and beaming smiles from Wee Man anyway. Just a shame it's so far away for regular visits.

Well thank you for looking, and if you'd like to grab a cuppa (or whatever takes your fancy), and share some time with some like minded friends, then please click on the link ^ up top ^.

Until next time...............

Toby's Card

I made this card at my Summer club last Friday. I made a card for Toby Poby because I thought he would like it. And he does :-D

I used lots of markers, a sparkly blue pom-pom, some fun foam, two pink die-cut flowers and a glue stick. I wrote the colour names with the same coloured pen.  I hope you like it.

Toby Poby is the blog header this week. Next week there will be a different one. It may be one of my pictures, it may be one of Twinkles :D

Craft Barn Q & L Challenge #15

I have been absent from my blog whilst joining in with the Index Card A Day challenge on Facebook, created by Tammy Garcia of Daisy Yellow. And with the school Summer Holidays in full swing here, I just haven't had the time to do that and write blog posts too. That is also the reason I didn't get to visit everyone for challenge 14, for which I sincerely apologise; nor manage to reply to all your wonderful comments about my Darla Horse which I really & truly appreciated ((hugs))

My Wee Man, (7 year old with autism), also joined in with the ICAD challenge and ended up creating Fifty amazing index art cards. I am hoping to share them all on here, but I have a few technical issues to deal with first.

In the meantime, I would like to share my newest page for The Craft Barn's latest challenge. The words to choose from this time are Mind and/or Ignorance. We are to use one or both of the words with a quote or a lyric. I chose the word Mind and used a quote.

This quote is a great support to me when Wee Man is having a particularly bad time in public. It doesn't happen very often, but when he does, the reactions of people can be enough to make one despair for lack of human understanding and compassion. Something else I was once told is to look at 'these people' and ask myself three questions: Do I know them? Am I likely to come across them again? Do they mean anything to me? And if the answer to them all is, No, then s*d them. Their ignorance is their own shame.

*Stepping off my soapbox* and back to my page - I simply used distress paints through three stencils and some washi tapes. I love the book one :D Many thanks for looking.

Until next time............
