T stands for treats, Q&L #21 & Tag Tuesday

I'm late for tea again so I hope my friends at Elizabeth's will forgive me and will still join me for a cuppa anyway. If you would like to join us, pop over to the Altered Book Lover and post a blog link that shows your beverage of choice.

I had a real treat this morning, I was invited to a friend's house for coffee, along with another lady, and whilst there we started chatting about cups and mugs and she showed me this pretty blue cup that is part of a set she was given when she got engaged over fifty years ago. I just love the pattern on it and asked if I may take a couple of photographs with a view to sketching it. She was very happy for me to do so.

After my chat and catch up I did a little shopping and then went home for a light lunch and another coffee. My Moomin mini-mug was a gift from my son in Sweden a couple of years ago. It is just the right size for me. Bon appetit!

This afternoon I did a little crafting to complete my entry for #21 of the Quotes & Lyrics Challenge from The Craft Barn where the words to choose from are Hug and/or Nowhere. I chose the word Hug.

My quote, from I know not where, is 'Keep Calm and Hug Someone'.  I have a stamp of a girl and I have a stamp of a teddy bear, but I couldn't figure out the best way to stamp them so the girl was holding the bear, so I decided to draw my own and I'm really rather pleased that I did. I did a quick sketch with a pencil then went over her with a micron pen. I did the background with Neocolor IIs and coloured the little girl with Inktense and Faber Castell watercolour pencils.

I am also using this tag as my entry for Tag Tuesday this week, where the theme is 'Fright Night'; and all things halloween; bu-ut, being a lazy person, I decided not to do another tag and use this tag as the antithesis of halloween. Hehehe. Why not pop over and see the scary tags already posted?
I double-dog dare you!

Until next time...........

By Wee Man

My Adventure to Cardiff

Hello everyone, Wee Man here :-D  I went to Wales last week and it was such fun. I have got some pictures to show you from some of the things I did in Cardiff. Cardiff is the capital city of Wales.

Here I am waiting for our plane to come.

At last we're off to Bristol.
We went to Bristol because the plane didn't go straight to Cardiff. When we got to Bristol we got the A1 bus to Bristol Temple Meads train station.

Then we got the Great Western train to Cardiff Central train station and that's where we met Helen.
We went to Premier Inn at Pentwyn and that's where we slept.

On Tuesday I went to the biggest soft play centre in the UK. It is called Jump Cardiff.

I had such fun there and we went again on Wednesday afternoon for a wee while.

I had a fantastic time in Cardiff but I was excited to go home again.

We sat beside the wing on the way to Cardiff and on the way home as well.

I hope you enjoyed hearing about my adventure to Cardiff. I'll see you next time.
Bye for now!  :-D

T Stands for........

 Planes Trains and Automobiles

It's the school half term holidays here and a few months ago I booked a few days away for Wee Man and I to go to Wales to meet for the first time, with a gorgeous lady I met online about three years ago - I can't believe it's been that long! Helen is a prolific crocheter, most of which she makes for charity. She even shaved her hair off for charity earlier this year, so how cool is that?! She is so inspirational to me; I was very excited to have this adventure.

The countdown began on a scale I knew Wee Man could cope with.
And as Wales is approximately 560 miles from us, flying was the preferred mode of travel.
With a good tail wind we made the journey in about 45 minutes and as Cardiff was still about an hour from the airport we got to go on a shuttle bus

and a train as well!
When we arrived in Cardiff Helen collected us from the train station; so it really was a Planes Trains and Automobile Adventure.

We stayed in a Premier Inn Hotel which was, clean, fresh, quiet, warm and welcoming.
With a fine view

And fine food
Apologies for the untidy look of the food, I was nearly finished when I remembered I needed a photograph to share with my T Buddies over on Elizabeth's blog hehe.

We had such a wonderful time in Wales; Helen and her family made us so welcome and it was all so relaxed, we could have stayed. I hope it won't be too long before we can return.

I hope you have time to return to Elizabeth's blog and perhaps visit some other T for Tuesday suppers

Until next time............

Fly Free & Sing

I created this page for the monthly colour challenge over at the Rubber Dance blog, where the colours for October are 'Vintage Tones'.

For colour I used Neocolor IIs, Derwent Metallics and Yasutomo metallic paints, (they're similar to Twinkling H2Os); and all my stamps are by Rubber Dance.

If you join in with the colour challenge, you stand a chance of winning, 'an amazing grab bag of unmounted Rubber Dance stamps worth 25Euros, (that's over $30)'. So head on over to the Rubber Dance blog and check out the Guidelines.

Until next time...............

Q & L Sketchbook

I haven't done much more than drawing practise lately and I haven't posted them for fear of boring you all to distraction, but I have also managed to complete my latest entry to the fortnightly Q & L Challenge over at The Craft Barn. We are up to #20 and the words this time are Destiny and Gift. We are to use one or both words from a Quote and/or a Lyric in our work. I chose to use the word Gift. I had no idea what I was going to do until I opened my book and found a page I hade been playing on with some watercolours.

The trees and bird stamps are from Rubber Dance Art Stamps, I can't remember where the butterfly is from I'm afraid, and the lettering is just a wee alphabet set I have in a cute wooden box.

I am also linking this to The Sketchbook Challenge where the theme is Trees.

Wee Man and I are off on a new adventure on Monday; we are going to Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, to meet up with Helen for the first time. It is all really exciting, to be flying down there, getting on different trains and buses and then meeting someone who has been a fabulous friend over the past few years. I have no doubt Wee Man will tell you all about it soon after we get back.

In the meantime, have a great weekend whatever you are doing, especially if your name is Tracey Fletcher King and you are celebrating your birthday tomorrow (Sunday)

Until next time.............

29 Faces of September - #25 to #29

I did it! I completed the whole month of the challenge, creating one face for each day. I have done a couple more since, but here are the last few that take me to Twenty Nine!

Thank you to all who have visited through this challenge, and left such generous comments, I have appreciated every single one of them.
I intend to continue practising this side of my creativity.

And until next time...............
