Planes Trains and Automobiles
It's the school half term holidays here and a few months ago I booked a few days away for Wee Man and I to go to Wales to meet for the first time, with a gorgeous lady I met online about three years ago - I can't believe it's been that long! Helen is a prolific crocheter, most of which she makes for charity. She even shaved her hair off for charity earlier this year, so how cool is that?! She is so inspirational to me; I was very excited to have this adventure.
The countdown began on a scale I knew Wee Man could cope with.
And as Wales is approximately 560 miles from us, flying was the preferred mode of travel.
With a good tail wind we made the journey in about 45 minutes and as Cardiff was still about an hour from the airport we got to go on a shuttle bus
and a train as well!
When we arrived in Cardiff Helen collected us from the train station; so it really was a Planes Trains and Automobile Adventure.
We stayed in a Premier Inn Hotel which was, clean, fresh, quiet, warm and welcoming.
With a fine view
And fine food
Apologies for the untidy look of the food, I was nearly finished when I remembered I needed a photograph to share with my T Buddies over on Elizabeth's blog hehe.
I hope you have time to return to Elizabeth's blog and perhaps visit some other T for Tuesday suppers
Until next time............
............thanks for popping by to say 'Hi' ((hugs)) :o) x
that happens to me all the time- forgetting to take the photo tip after we have tucked in!
ReplyDeleteLovely travel log! thanks
Thank you Robyn :o))
DeleteYour train stations are SO much more beautiful than anything we have here in the states. This was a fantastic trip and voyage for you and Wee Man. However, if you came to visit ME, you would NOT stay in a hotel, no matter how lovely the view.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a good time, and thanks for taking us with you on this adventure during T this week.
I'm glad you enjoyed my little tale Elizabeth. Stayin in a hotel was most convenient all round, especially for a first visit. Now a visit to the States, now that would BE an adventure of a lifetime :o))
DeleteLooks like you had a fun time! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThank you Valerie, it was lots of fun
Delete((hugs)) :o) x
Great that you could meet your friemd and at the same time enjoying such a fab trip! Thank you for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day!
Thank you too Susi :o)
DeleteI love an adventure! Bet you and the Wee Man really enjoyed yourselves. How lovely to meet up with internet friends..am trying to work out a way for me and Elizabeth to meet, but half way isn't an option!
ReplyDeleteThank you Julia, we had a great time. I hope you and Elizabeth get together one day, it will make for fascinating blogposts I have no doubt :o))
DeleteHi twinkle
ReplyDeleteAdventures into the unknown are great especially for little men..
Looks like you had a great time but please .... Where is 560 miles from. Wales?
Janet
Hehe - thanks Janet :D 560 miles from Wales is the beautiful Moray Firth in NE Scotland, where Wee Man & I live :o))
DeleteLooks like a fine time! Brekkie looks yummy!!
ReplyDeleteIt was great Sue and such a treat to have brekkie cooked by someone else :o))
DeleteWhat a nice little holiday! And how nice to meet up with an online friend in person. I bet wee man enjoyed all the adventure and new places too. I agree with Elizabeth that the train stations in Europe are SO much better and prettier than they are in the US! Happy T day to you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Linda, it certainly was a real treat :o))
DeletePlane, bus & train, what fun! Train travel is so limited around here that I'm always interested in travels that include trains :)
ReplyDeleteIt was lots of fun that's for sure. And the more modes of travel we can manage, then all the better as far as Wee Man is concerned :o))
DeleteHow nice to get to meet a special blog friend and spend some quality time together.
ReplyDeleteYour planes, trains and automobiles trip sounds all around lovely!
We spent a couple of days in Cardiff last year and enjoyed the castle and all of the animals on the wall around it.
Happy T Day!
oxo
Thanks so much Patty :D It was such a treat to meet Helen.
DeleteCardiff is a beautiful city, but awful wet the days we were there so we didn't 'partake' of the castle. It was fine to see the animals as we drove around tho'. Something to look forward to next time ;)
really fun to join you on your trip! loved the photos...and the 'planes, trains, & auto' quote :) we don't usually have beans for breakfast in the U.S., but it looks rather good. may have to try that...so cool that you got to visit with a blogger friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you Dianne :o) Beans are a fine filler and good for energy too. It was a fab adventure :o))
DeleteThat looks like a great Twinks! And what an adventure for your Wee Man! Thank you so much for sharing! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteThank you Deb, it was well worth any effort :o))

Thanks for your comment Hettie; how amazing that we were so close but didn't know it! I shall have to send my friend over to have a look at your 'smelly' makes, she's very crafty herself, lol :D

DeleteIt's so nice Mo that so many people are enjoying reading about your trip. You've brought it to life for everyone. I can see where Wee Man gets his storytelling talent from. I'm so sorry I missed all the fun but so glad you all had a good time xx
ReplyDeleteAhh, thank you Lynn, we missed your being there, but we WILL meet ((hugs)) xx
