First I sketched my bugs in pencil, went over them with a fineliner then erased the pencil. I coloured in with my watercolour pencils and aqua brush and then did the background with a pastel pencil. I went over the bee and dragonfly wings with my clear Wink of Stella brush. Love! And finally I sprayed over it all lightly with a cheap hairspray so that I don't smudge the pastel by accident.
The next prompt is thumb print birds ~ here are some very cute examples :D Now surely even I can do that? Oh dear, I do hope I haven't just jinxed myself *yikes!* lol ;)
I've a long way to go with this class yet, and the new one Online Card Class starts today; oh my. Wish me luck with keeping up won't you?
What are you working on just now? Do tell.......;)
But, until next time..........
............stay well, and thanks for popping by to say 'Hi' *hugs*
You are going to be extra busy if you keep up with that busy cardmaking schedule. Of course, I like how your bugs turned out. They are SOOOOOOOOOOOO cute, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Elizabeth :-D I will be delighted if I can keep up, but not stressing about it if I don't :-D
DeleteThis is totally gorgeous, love all those little bugs, well done! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Valerie :-D x
DeleteI'm very impressed with your hand drawn bugs. My favourite is the bumble bee, he has the cutest face.
ReplyDeleteYou are so organised with all your challenges and classes.
I've been making some cards to send to Helen for her to sell on their charity stall.
I used photographs of my work and machine stitched them onto card vas added buttons on some xxx
Thank you Lynn. I'm not so sure about being organised; we shall see, haha ;-)
DeleteHow kind of you to do cards for Helen's charity thingy. I sent some stuff a couple of weeks ago and also planned to to do some cards :-) Great minds huh?! ;-) xx
You learned how to draw them by googling? Brilliant! I'm putting your idea in my memory bank for future reference. Thanks for telling us the secret. I thought maybe you stamped them. Can't wait to see your thumb print creations!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Boo - Yes, it was just google images I used :o)
DeleteI love your bugs too, the dragonfly is my favourite, I love them because of their iridescent wings.... I am busy with lots of DT work at the moment, I really need to get them finished so that I can a bit of fun! Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne, I'm glad you like them. I thought of you when I did the dragonfly & butterfly. I painted a butterfly suncatcher with my pro-markers last night and put it in my window this morning, it's quite bonny.
DeleteI'm looking forward to seeing what you end up playing with *hugs* :o) xx
So glad you didn't give up! Lovely!
