I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who takes the time to 'pop by' and leave such lovely comments on what I post here in my little part of blogland. I do hope you don't think I 'Twaddle' too much, lol ;) You are all so lovely, and kind and encouraging. And I am so very grateful to all who choose to follow me on here. Thank you all so much **hugs**
Now, the main reason for this post is to tell you about the current theme on Dotty Hill Creative. Our host, Michael, has chosen Bird House or Bird Cage this time around. Hmmm......... ((thinking))............
Then, whilst looking for inspiration, I was reminded of some crochet I did over two years ago.
I am mostly happy with it, but disappointed that the Micron pen, (supposedly waterproof), muddied the large yellow area slightly *sigh*. However, if you would like to join us at the co-op you can find all about it here. And we would love it if you can play along.
For now, until next time.................
..............thanks for popping by to say 'Hi' *hugs*
Ooh I can see my lovely bird house there, it has pride of place in my studio.
ReplyDeleteYou've done a lovely job of your painted bird house.
Off to have a look at your links.
Can't get over what a great job you do of blogging x x x
Hehe ~ I knew you would. I'd forgotten about it until I was looking. I was really pleased with how that turned out. A bird house going to THE bird house, haha. Thank you for all your support Lynn *hugs* xoxox
DeleteOh that's marvelous, Twinkle! LOVE it. You did so many and I'm glad the previous projects led to this fantastic zentangle like illustration. I love it with all the patterns, even in the bird. The blue wash works great too. :) thanks for getting the ball rolling for the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteTwaddle, btw, is DEF not a word one hears here very often, let me tell you. Forgot that. love it. :)
Let us know when the package comes your way. I threw in some lil extras for you for the wait. Thanks.
Ahh, thank you so much Michael your comment is very generous. I'm looking forward to seeing what the rest of the team create, including you & Alex too :o))

ReplyDeleteThank you Boo :) I've been crocheting on & off for nearly 50 years, and about all I did until I 'met' Lynn Holland in April 2012 and she introduced me to paper craft. I haven't looked back since. :o)
DeleteThose crocheted bird houses are so lovely, Mo. I haven't crocheted in years and then I could only do squares.
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol, I appreciate your visit and your comment, you are very kind. I find crochet is a lovely in Winter, too warm for Summer, lol :o) x
DeleteTwaddle? Never! Everything you say is interesting and I love to see your work - this creation is wonderful and like I said on FB it reminds me of 'tangling' - I am told it is very therapeutic. Your crochet birdhouses are beautiful too. A little tip that might work - use a heat tool to properly dry the ink before you colour - not tried it myself but worth a try. Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteYou are so kind Anne, thank you very much. And thanks for the tip, I will defintiely try that and let you know *hugs* xx
DeleteHello there! I've found you! And what lovely bird houses. What did you do with them? I hope they are not in a box. :-) Going for a scoot around. Take care. Alison
ReplyDeleteHi Alison :D What a lovely surprise, when I opened my email box, to see you here. Welcome!!
DeleteThank you, so much, and rest assured, the houses are not in a box , they all went to new homes.

Hi there! This is such a lovely post - I too am a bird and birdhouse fan! And I love the new page that you were inspired to do. Thank you for helping to spread the word about the Summer of Color and thrilled that you've decided to give it a go :) I promise you'll love it! See you Monday, xo
ReplyDeleteHi Kristin, Thank you so much for visiting my little corner and I am so happy that you like my birdhouses.
DeleteI am looking forward to Monday and a new play date. Do you have any idea what time you have in relation to the UK Kristin? Just so I now when to start looking for posts, and I'm not pacing the floor ;) Lol
What a multi-talented gal! Love the crochet birdhouses and they would look lovely hanging in any room.
ReplyDeleteYour artwork for CT is just as cute and the details and color is very inviting to the eye.
Thank you so much Wanda, you are very kind to say so.
DeleteI hope the packing is coming along nicely and without any hiccups :o)

ReplyDeleteThank you very much Linda, I'm so glad you like them. I love your birdhouse street and your mug rug. I envy your sketching and sewing abilities :o))
DeleteI love your crocheted birdhouses. I used to crochet a lot, but can't do it so much any more. But praise the Lord I can still draw! Your art bird house is kind of zentang-ly. I like to tangle also and especially with color.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Chris, I can't crochet so much these days either, but like you, I am grateful for pen and paper and a bit of colour ;)
DeleteI really enjoyed seeing your birdcage and crafty pussy cat :o)
I love all those little crochet houses - I really hope they are all up in your house!!! What a great idea to draw them as well since the crochet patterns lends itself to a really neat tangle pattern :D Really fun stuff!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Katie, I'm glad you like it. All the crochet houses all live in different houses after I either sold or gave them away as gifts. Thanks for your lovely comment :o))
DeleteI love them all! The crochet ones are of course dear to my heart but I love the illustrated one as well.
