Creative Tuesdays - Happy Birthday!

Every two weeks, our host of the Creative Tuesdays challenge, Michael, aka Mr Toast, aka MMm, gives us a new theme to work on. Last week it was Nursery Rhymes, and this week, after receiving word from Linda of dots 'n' doodles, that it is nearly the birthday of one of our co-op members, Wanda, "Happy Birthday!" was chosen as the newest theme. We have until April 22nd to create something, so I am delighted to be completed with a few days to spare.

I don't 'know' Wanda yet, but what I have read others say about her, leaves me honoured to be taking part and I hope that in some small way I can make Wanda smile for her birthday with my Happy Birthday message for her.

I edged my page with some paper tape for a border, then did a light wash over the page. I sketched everything in pencil then used my watercolour pencils to colour it all in. Alternate letters are decorated with wee circles and I used a Wink of Stella Glitter brush on all the candles. I'm happy that my flash caught the sparkle on some of them. Finally I added a few squiggly streamers. **HaPpY BiRtHdAy WaNdA!**

I hope you will pop over to Dotty Hill Creative and see what the other co-oppers have created to celebrate Wanda's birthday. And perhaps pop over to wish Wanda best wishes for May 1st.

Thanks for popping by to say "Hi" *hugs*

  1. Twinkle Toes, I'm smiling from EAR to EAR. I love your card! I also love how you explained the process you took to make it special and sparkly. I know you don't know me yet...but I love "bling" and your card says bling to me. I get wait to get to know you better in the weeks to come in our CT family. Thanks again. What an honor.

    1. Thanks a lot Boo :D I love washi tape and also have lots of it, lol . I use it on every day envelopes, to hold up inspiration images on my cupboard doors, I use it to decorate craft drawer fronts, I decorate simple cards with it, I've decorated an old shoe box with it, a glass jar, and just about anything else I think needs a little bit of quick colour :o)

  10. Twinkle Toes, this is a sweet tribute and I love your write up too. Thank you so much for doing it, Twinkle.

BTW, when you sign up with a link to your post, be sure to use the one for the post itself vs. just your blog address! So, in this case, the address you would put in is: http://ilovedacloudyday.blogspot.ca/2014/04/more-hares.html. You can find that at the top of the browser window then copy and paste it into the sign up. That way, we can find the post after other posts are published.

    Anyway,
