Wrecking my Mojo and Lady Grey

Hi there, *waves* it seems like such a long time that I was here, (last year even! Lol), and it feels like even longer that I created anything at all, other than a quick tag last week.  Thank you very much to those who missed me and sent me private messages asking if all was okay; your kindness squished my heart, ((hugs))

The reason for my lack of activity was my missing mojo. It just upped and left.
Scarpered.
Naffed off.
Disappeared; around Christmas time. It was awful. It didn't matter what I did, what I looked at, watched or read, nothing jump started a spark in my leetle grey cells. Have you ever lost your mojo? What did you do to get it back? I had no idea what I was going to do, and then Mr Postie came a few days ago and brought me a package from my very dear friend Lynn Holland. I think many of you know her and would agree that she has a heart of gold. What did she send? This book;

I spent some time going through it and it made me smile.
It made me smile and I felt lights going on in my brain. I knew this was going to be lots of fun.

In my eagerness I forgot to photograph the first page whilst it was still blank but it said to,
'Write on this page avoiding the box: "I will not make boring art"
and this is how I did it.
I used my Derwent Metallic pencils and a black micron pen. I had lots of fun doing this. Thank you again Lynn ((hugs)) xx
And for the second page I did literally what it said to do. Twice! Wee Man found it quite amusing :D
I'm thinking of changing this to try and make the frame better.
I've done the third page also, but I'm not sharing that one yet . Hehe;)
This book reminded me of what Carolyn Saxby is working on here but of course Carolyn's is pretty darn awesome!

Taking a break today, I was having another look at my Anti Journal. and having a lovely cup of Lady Grey tea when I remembered that each week on Elizabeth's blog we celebrate Tea on Tuesday and visit each other to see what everyone's been up to lately.
As you can see, I'd almost finished my tea, but I really wanted to take part after missing the past couple, or more, weeks.

So, I'm glad to be back in the groove and creating again. I look forward to sharing more with you soon.

Until then...............
........................thanks for popping by to say 'Hi' ((hugs)) :o) x

    1. Thanks for your comment MoH :D I will be sure to say Hi to Wee Man :D Lynn truly is, one in a million. I'm very lucky.
I was looking for my Danny Gregory book for days and days and could not find it anywhere, but as I was tidying things away, like old tags and such, all of a sudden there it was, at eye level on the shelf I was in front of. Literally! How bizarre. Hope you 'find' your books soon :D

    1. Many thanks Sheila. Yes, my mojo has returned. I wonder how one pampers such a thing so it doesn't go away again, lol.
It is bitterly cold here. It didn't rise above -4 today, in the shade, but it felt like -7 in the breeze. I haven't been venturing far.
I'm hoping this frosty weather will kill off some of the awful viruses that have been going around here over the past couple of months.
Take care, and stay warm :o)

  8. Aaaawww Twinks! I'm so glad your back and might have a glimmer of your mojo... The beginning of this year has been like that for me too but i think it has alot to do with packing stuff and sifting thru stuff getting ready for a move... When i lose my mojo i make some time to just sit in my craft room. I don't have to do anything ...just sit there for a few minutes...Sometimes i end up doing some straightening up ..sometimes i'll fiddle a little with whatever is on the desktop...sometimes i do just that...sit... and thats okay...Theres an awful lot of good 'vibes' in that craft room and after a while they start to soak in again... Don't fret Twinks i'm sure its just temporay... part of the ebb and flow of life....and creativity. What a wonderful present Lynn sent you! Hugs! deb

Your quilt is perfect for a baby and the blankie taggy is fine as is imo. Baby may use the head part to hold it by, or use that end to bite with sore gums. My youngest grandson has one. ((hugs))

  15. Thanks to Lynn, it looks like your mojo has been kick-started again. So glad it was the spark that did it for you.

You mentioned a lot of things I try when I can't create. I look at others' art, I visit blogs I love, and I clean and organize an area of my craft space. If that doesn't help, I take time away. I guess by being part of two weekly challenges this year (J52 and APC), I haven't had a chance to be unproductive. But I feel a dry spell coming on.

Thanks for sharing your lovely new book AND the great art you have already completed in it, while you joined us for T this Tuesday, dear Mo. SO GLAD you are back!

  16. My mojo up and left me....oh...about April of 2014. I've not been the same since the in-laws passed in such close succession. I keep trying, but I just can't get past about 3 days worth of art. And that's the first time I've said that "out loud." I *need* to get our Japan pics scrapped. I keep trying and I get nowhere. Maybe I need an un-journal! I LOVE the tea splat page. Made me giggle!

    1. Dear Sue, I'm sorry to hear that you too find you are struggling to create as much as you would like, (altho' what you do produce is FABulous!) I feel sure you will find further inspiration very soon and you will be able to start scrapping your Japan pics too. I think times of stress and busy times like holidays invoke sods law and take their toll on the creative side of us when we need it most!
I'm delighted you like the tea bag page. Try throwing a few round on some blank paper Sue :o)) ((hugs))

  19. Oh Mo I wanted to squish your heart too but with having my laptop crashing I'm afraid I didn't get to you. I was thinking so much about you and worrying about your missing mojo because I think perhaps mine was in cahoots with yours. I've been doing everything and anything except art... but today it seems to have reappeared. I love the idea that Lynn came to your rescue with such a brilliant book and that you're back an at 'em! Have fun xoxo

  22. Oh Twinkle, I am so glad you got the "spark" back. Lynn is an amazing friend for knowing exactly what your inner muse needed. The tea bag splatter idea is great. Last night, I tea dyed some papers for my DLP and tossed the tea bags into the compost bin (regretting that I didn't read this before I tossed them). What a great excuse to make a pot of tea, so I can use the bags to randomly splatter some "love" on my tea-dyed pages. Hugs to you, my friend. Keep arting!!! Hugs, Pamikins
