Wrecking my Mojo and Lady Grey
Hi there, *waves* it seems like such a long time that I was here, (last year even! Lol), and it feels like even longer that I created anything at all, other than a quick tag last week. Thank you very much to those who missed me and sent me private messages asking if all was okay; your kindness squished my heart, ((hugs))
Scarpered.
Naffed off.
Disappeared; around Christmas time. It was awful. It didn't matter what I did, what I looked at, watched or read, nothing jump started a spark in my leetle grey cells. Have you ever lost your mojo? What did you do to get it back? I had no idea what I was going to do, and then Mr Postie came a few days ago and brought me a package from my very dear friend Lynn Holland. I think many of you know her and would agree that she has a heart of gold. What did she send? This book;
I spent some time going through it and it made me smile.
It made me smile and I felt lights going on in my brain. I knew this was going to be lots of fun.
In my eagerness I forgot to photograph the first page whilst it was still blank but it said to,
'Write on this page avoiding the box: "I will not make boring art"
and this is how I did it.
I used my Derwent Metallic pencils and a black micron pen. I had lots of fun doing this. Thank you again Lynn ((hugs)) xx
And for the second page I did literally what it said to do. Twice! Wee Man found it quite amusing :D
I'm thinking of changing this to try and make the frame better.
I've done the third page also, but I'm not sharing that one yet . Hehe;)
This book reminded me of what Carolyn Saxby is working on here but of course Carolyn's is pretty darn awesome!
Taking a break today, I was having another look at my Anti Journal. and having a lovely cup of Lady Grey tea when I remembered that each week on Elizabeth's blog we celebrate Tea on Tuesday and visit each other to see what everyone's been up to lately.
As you can see, I'd almost finished my tea, but I really wanted to take part after missing the past couple, or more, weeks.
So, I'm glad to be back in the groove and creating again. I look forward to sharing more with you soon.
Until then...............
........................thanks for popping by to say 'Hi' ((hugs)) :o) x
A lovely pressie from a true friend Mo, so glad your leetle sparks have started firing up again.
ReplyDeleteI got a set of books which i have put away and can't seem to find which are similar, OH bought them for my birthday last year. Must try and find them.
Great to see you back, say Hi to Weeman:-) xxx
Thanks for your comment MoH :D I will be sure to say Hi to Wee Man :D Lynn truly is, one in a million. I'm very lucky.
DeleteI was looking for my Danny Gregory book for days and days and could not find it anywhere, but as I was tidying things away, like old tags and such, all of a sudden there it was, at eye level on the shelf I was in front of. Literally! How bizarre. Hope you 'find' your books soon :D
Glad to see you back, Mo. How nice of Lynn to send you that journal. It was just the kick start you needed.
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol. You are so right. I'm very lucky. :D
DeleteHello again. The book looks interesting and great that it works for you. I like your framed teabag art, what an idea.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Sheila. Yes, my mojo has returned. I wonder how one pampers such a thing so it doesn't go away again, lol.
DeleteIt is bitterly cold here. It didn't rise above -4 today, in the shade, but it felt like -7 in the breeze. I haven't been venturing far.
I'm hoping this frosty weather will kill off some of the awful viruses that have been going around here over the past couple of months.
Take care, and stay warm :o)
Lol... What a great little book! I'm so pleased to see you back in order mate, and thinking outside of the box!!! Xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen :D I know how to follow instruction, lol xxx
DeleteWahoo - and all is right in the world again Mo lol....hugs Jewels and Mr. D
ReplyDeleteWhoop!! Thanks Jewels, you're so right ((hugs)) :o)
DeleteAlways lose my mojo especially in this horrid heat. Glad you found your mojo and made these beautiful pieces
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Bridget. I hope yours isn't away for long :o)
DeleteIt''s good to see you back. Love the book Lynn sent you.It must be interesting! Friends are priceless!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Karla. The book is very good. Friends are a staple for life :o)
DeleteAaaawww Twinks! I'm so glad your back and might have a glimmer of your mojo... The beginning of this year has been like that for me too but i think it has alot to do with packing stuff and sifting thru stuff getting ready for a move... When i lose my mojo i make some time to just sit in my craft room. I don't have to do anything ...just sit there for a few minutes...Sometimes i end up doing some straightening up ..sometimes i'll fiddle a little with whatever is on the desktop...sometimes i do just that...sit... and thats okay...Theres an awful lot of good 'vibes' in that craft room and after a while they start to soak in again... Don't fret Twinks i'm sure its just temporay... part of the ebb and flow of life....and creativity. What a wonderful present Lynn sent you! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteThank you Deb, I feel so much better now my brain is more active and my hands are busy again. I hope your packing/moving doesn't scupper you over much.
DeleteLynn is a real gem ((hugs))
What a great little book to kick Mr. MOJO in the pants!
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day
That is so true Krisha. Thank you ((hugs))
DeleteLooks like you are having fun! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThank you Valerie, I feel so much better now my brain is more active and my hands are busy again.((hugs))
DeleteGreat to see you back - we missed you!
ReplyDeleteFab starters---
Happy T-Day!
xoxoxo
Susi
Bless you Susi. Many thanks ((hugs)) :o)
DeleteWhat fun! Sometimes that little bit of direction is all you need to take off :) Happy Tea Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteYou're right there. I'm so happy to be 'on the go' again ((hugs)) :o)
DeleteHi Mo, so happy for you that your Mojo has returned, could you now send him my way to get me back on track please? Love the art journal book, such a wonderful gift and you are making art in the loveliest possible way! Annette
ReplyDeleteThank you Annette. I totally understand what you mean; I so wish your mojo returns soon.
DeleteHave you heard of Tammy Garcia of Daisy Yellow Art? Her blog is FULL of prompts and ideas that may help you.
Your quilt is perfect for a baby and the blankie taggy is fine as is imo. Baby may use the head part to hold it by, or use that end to bite with sore gums. My youngest grandson has one. ((hugs))
Hi Mo, Happy New Year to you. What a fab gift and just at the perfect time it seems. Love the idea of fun prompts to get you in the mood to create. I look forward to seeing more of what it inspires Hugs Helen x
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Helen and a very Happy New Year to you too. You're right, the book did arrive perfectly on time; is if on cue. ((hugs)) xo
DeleteThanks to Lynn, it looks like your mojo has been kick-started again. So glad it was the spark that did it for you.
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned a lot of things I try when I can't create. I look at others' art, I visit blogs I love, and I clean and organize an area of my craft space. If that doesn't help, I take time away. I guess by being part of two weekly challenges this year (J52 and APC), I haven't had a chance to be unproductive. But I feel a dry spell coming on.
Thanks for sharing your lovely new book AND the great art you have already completed in it, while you joined us for T this Tuesday, dear Mo. SO GLAD you are back!
Thank you Elizabeth, I am so grateful to have dear friends who care so much. I do hope you don't experience a 'dry spell' at all. ((hugs)) :o)
DeleteMy mojo up and left me....oh...about April of 2014. I've not been the same since the in-laws passed in such close succession. I keep trying, but I just can't get past about 3 days worth of art. And that's the first time I've said that "out loud." I *need* to get our Japan pics scrapped. I keep trying and I get nowhere. Maybe I need an un-journal! I LOVE the tea splat page. Made me giggle!
ReplyDeleteDear Sue, I'm sorry to hear that you too find you are struggling to create as much as you would like, (altho' what you do produce is FABulous!) I feel sure you will find further inspiration very soon and you will be able to start scrapping your Japan pics too. I think times of stress and busy times like holidays invoke sods law and take their toll on the creative side of us when we need it most!
DeleteI'm delighted you like the tea bag page. Try throwing a few round on some blank paper Sue :o)) ((hugs))
great to see you back along with your mojo! What a perfectly timed gift to give you a jump start-and you have done a great job of it. Love your pages -and the famed tea stains page is so fun-enjoy! Happy T day
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Linda, I am indeed very fortunate (hug) :o)
DeleteWhat a nice gift! It sounds like the perfect way to free yourself and get that mojo back! I have no doubt from what you've showed so fact that it has already sparked your creativity! Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie, I have been very busy with different bits and pieces since the weekend post arrived and am so grateful my mojo returned :o) I enjoyed seeing your wood burning project :o))
DeleteOh Mo I wanted to squish your heart too but with having my laptop crashing I'm afraid I didn't get to you. I was thinking so much about you and worrying about your missing mojo because I think perhaps mine was in cahoots with yours. I've been doing everything and anything except art... but today it seems to have reappeared. I love the idea that Lynn came to your rescue with such a brilliant book and that you're back an at 'em! Have fun xoxo
ReplyDeleteAwww, thank you Denise; you just did squish my heart :D I can't wait to see what your day produced and hope your laptop can be fixed soon. ((hugs)) xox
DeleteHappy to see your mojo has returned and what a thoughtful friend too!
ReplyDeleteYour tea stained page is fun and nice not to waste a drop of tea ;-)
Happy T Day to you.
oxo
Thank you Patty, I am indeed most fortunate.
DeleteYour roses are very pretty :o))
Well well well young lady looks like you gave been greatly missed. I'm so glad I've been able to reunite you with your mojo and crafting friends haha. Call me your good fairy xxx
ReplyDeleteYou certainly are a good fairy my friend ((hugs))
DeleteBlogland peeps warm the cockles of my heart and make me smile BIG! xxx
Awh you are a real twinkle xx
DeleteOh Twinkle, I am so glad you got the "spark" back. Lynn is an amazing friend for knowing exactly what your inner muse needed. The tea bag splatter idea is great. Last night, I tea dyed some papers for my DLP and tossed the tea bags into the compost bin (regretting that I didn't read this before I tossed them). What a great excuse to make a pot of tea, so I can use the bags to randomly splatter some "love" on my tea-dyed pages. Hugs to you, my friend. Keep arting!!! Hugs, Pamikins
ReplyDeleteHey Pam, how delightful of you to visit, you are most welcome dear lady. Thank you for your wonderful comment. I hope to see some tea bag splatters from you soon. :o))
DeleteGreat that you had a hand from Lynn in helping you grab your Mojo by the scruff of the neck-looks like fun! Happy T day! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Chris. I did have lots of fun :o))
DeleteOMGosh! That looks like a really funny and FUN journal. Perfect gift. My mojo spends so much time in idle waiting for my body to cooperate that it just runs out of gas sometimes--LOL! I'm trying to use groups with challenges to get the motor running again right now. ;) Happy T-Day! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a fun book Rita, with things I never would think of doing, like rubbing a page in the grass! But it's outside the box and opening my eyes to other possibilities. Have fun with your groups :o))
DeleteMojo comes and mojo goes, and a good friend is forever! Tea gets you through too!
ReplyDeleteHow true that is Robyn. Happy T Day :o))
DeleteWhat a cool gift!!!! My Mojo is a master at disappearing ...she comes and goes at will.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol. I'm pleased your Mojo is present :)
Deleteoh marvelous gift! and your pages are delightful...so glad your smile, and mojo, came back!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Dianne :o)
DeleteWow Mo, what a great post and what a beautiful gift from Lynn! It certainly has done the trick, I love your pages - especially the box one - thinking outside the box already - which is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWhen Mr Mojo disappears on me (he does regularly) I have a good look around Pinterest at things I would love to do and it does usually bring on a flicker of interest..... but you certainly don't need that at the moment. Happy New Year too!! Big hugs, Anne xx
Thank you Anne. I am one lucky lady to have such kind friends.xx
DeleteI thought about getting one of those for my daughter! She has several journals right now that aren't getting used so I decided to wait. IT looks like a lot of fun though!!
ReplyDeleteHappy T day!
It is a lot of fun Halle. Maybe your daughter just needs some new ideas. Point her to Tammy Garcia's awesome prompts all over her blog here
Deletehttp://daisyyellowart.com/
Hope they help her :o))
These are gorgeous pages.
ReplyDeleteThank you Silvia :o)
DeleteThe book looks great ... you are sure to have fun with it Mo. Lynn is an angel ... such a lovely lady. My best wishes to you both xx
