Tea on Tuesday
First of all, talk about being suplanted!! I was just saying to Denise at lunch time that I had a blog post to write and hopefully would get chance to start (this), it, whilst Wee Man was having his lunch. However, having eaten it far quicker than it took me to make it, he came through and said he wanted to do an urgent blog post and would I help him.
Obviously I couldn't say no, so if you would like to see what was so urgent to tell you, please go here.
Now, back to the reason for my own post; this week I am sharing my Chinese meal with my friends from Tea on Tuesday over on Elizabeth's blog, Altered Book Lover.
We try to meet every Tuesday with a drink related post, although the drink doesn't have to be tea and the photo doesn't have to have been taken on a Tuesday.
See how flexible it is? Why not join us this week?
My photo was taken on Saturday past and if you didn't know, that was St. Valentines Day. My lovely hubby and I don't 'celebrate' Valentines Day per se, but we do like to do something a little different and this year it was having a takeaway meal from our favourite Chinese restaurant. Other years it has been finding a special gift for under a fiver, setting up breakfast in bed in such a way that we can both enjoy the treat and one year I put heart chocolates in his lunch box for him to find at work.
Anyhoo, here is my meal. I had Kung Pao Chicken. It was very good indeed.
And my beverage of choice was a drop of something bubbly.
Light beer and lemonade. Otherwise known as a shandy, hehe.
Craft wise over the past week I did some more work in my Anti Journal
and will be sharing more photos tomorrow/Wednesday.
I also took part in a one staple collage swap which I will share pictures of, once my partner has received it and I, hers.
Well until next time, thanks for stopping by to say 'Hi'; please leave me a word or two, they brighten my day.
Take care, stay safe and be well ((hugs)) Mo :o) x
Meal looks and sounds yummy as does your shandy (i prefer a lager shandy), which i haven't had in about 12 years lol!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your posts, meanwhile off to see what Wee Man has blogged.
Hugz
Mo:-) xxx
It's a rare thing for me 'to drink' Mo, but I just fancied one, and it went down a treat, lol.
DeleteHappy T Day :o))
wow- I love all those vibrant, colorful squares in your journal! I used to sometimes get a similar drink in France where they call it a panache. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Linda ;o)
DeleteThat Chinese meal looks good. Now you've made me hungry and it's nearly bedtime. Never heard of a Shandy, but I'm not one to drink alcohol. I'm no prude, just don't like the taste or the after effects.
ReplyDeleteAh, those one staple collages are fun, aren't they? I haven't made one in awhile, but I sure like the concept.
Thanks for sharing your meal and drink with us for T this Tuesday, and your continued work in your journal, too.
Thank you Elizabeth. I don't drink very often but when I do, I like my shandy, lol. Happy T Day :o) ((Hugs))
DeleteMMMMM! I love Kung Pao Chicken, not too sure about beer and lemonade mixture.......LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day
haha - being a wine guru, I'm not surprised you're not sure about the beer, lol. Happy T Day Krisha :o)
DeleteHelen is going to be well miffed with us teetotallers Mo. We will have to rely on Philip to be her drinking buddy. Although he's not upto much either haha x
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sure I could manage a Becks or two, lol :o) xx
DeleteI enjoy a good shandy but then I can't sleep from the excess sugar. I guess that means I have to drink earlier in the day right?? HA!
ReplyDeleteHappy T day!
Oh, definitely a mid afternoons beverage for you then Halle, lol :o)
DeleteWe enjoy Chinese food and have two very good take away places near us.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I have mixed lemonade with wine (don't read this Krisha, LOL), I have never mixed lemonade with beer. Hmmm just may try this next summer!
Love your anti journal page but have never heard of a one staple collage.
Thanks so much Debs. I have given you a link on your own post :o) x
DeleteOh, how I love Chinese food! I'm a sucker for the local buffet with a pot of hot tea. Your photo puts me in the mood :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love a buffet too, lol. Happy T Day :O))
DeleteSounds like you and your husband "celebrate" Valentine's day much like my sweetie and I do. He gives me flowers, I make him a romantic card, usually we have a special meal. No fuss, no expensive gifts.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing your anti journal post tomorrow and also find out what a one staple collage swap is :-)
Till then - be good, stay fabulous! xox
Hi Mo, the chinese take out looks lovely and a shandy was always my Mum's drink of choice on a hot sunny day. Love the squares of colour on your journal pages, so pretty! Happy T Tuesday to you, Annette
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Annette. I'm afraid I don't like ice cold beer, or anything for that matter (unless it's ice cream, lol), so that means I can drink my shandy in any season, lol. Happy T Day :o)
DeleteLovely artwork!
ReplyDeleteYour shandy sounds very refreshing...my mom used to enjoy the German version of that called a rattlermoss (spelling?)
Mr Magpie and I try to make every day like Valentine's day...sounds like you and your Mr might be the same.
I have been hungry for Chinese food.
Happy T Day to you!
oxo
Your meal looks delicious Mo, I am glad it is T-time here because seeing it has made me hungry! That's the trouble with dieting, I should never look at food. I do like the way you and your hubby celebrate Valentine's day - we do much the same, just a card and a bit of something (no chocolates though!). Hugs, Anne xx
ReplyDeleteHaha, Oops, sorry Anne. I hope you enjoyed your tea anyway ((hugs)) xx
DeleteWell it looks like you had a wonderfully yummy Valentine's Day Twinks! Hubs and i have been together 25 years and the Holiday has definitely morphed for us over the years..... At first it was about being witty and fun... I once gave him a red fishing pole with the note... "I'm still hooked on you" ... lol One time i led him on a scavenger hunt where i was the prize...... fun times... No we just pretty much make a point to spend the day together ... maybe try something new or go somewhere neither one of us has been...... Happy Tday Twinks! Hugs~deb
ReplyDeleteI think we have got Valentines 'right' Deb. I'm sure that maturity and length of the relationship lends itself to a deeper meaning for the day, imo, that is. Thanks for your visit, ((hugs))
DeleteSo much to enjoy here! Loved wee man's eventful weekend blog post...he is a cutie in his super hero jammies! wonderful looking Valentine's meal...and fantastic anti-journal pages! happy T Tuesday.... :)
ReplyDeleteMan thanks Dianne ((hugs)) :o)
DeleteFantastic food and drink... would love to take this right now..
ReplyDeleteand your Anti Journal spread is great!
Happy T-Day!

Susi
Thanks Susi, if you pop in I'll have a beer ready for you (((hugs)) :o) x
DeleteI think your Valentine's treat sound wonderful and so much better than the usual commercial stuff. We don't go overboard either... and considering we've been married (erm... doing a quick count) coming up for 36 years we must be doing something right. One year I remember I just made our toast into heart shapes and that seemed enough. I think just the fact that you do something... no matter how small, can mean a lot.
ReplyDeleteChinese looks delish... good job I've eaten already.
Great journal artwork and loved Wee Man's blog post 😁
xoxo
Thank you Denise. I love the idea of heart shaped toast. I've not done that one yet, thanks for the tip. I agree it's important to make time 'for the little things'.
DeleteThe Chinese was very tasty, I hadn't had it before so googled it and decided to chance it. I will have it again.
Glad you like the journal and Wee Man loves to see who has left him a comment. He gets excited when he sees names he remembers and he loved the music. So did I, haha. :o) xx
The food looks great!!!! I love a good Chinese meal.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol. You and me both ;o))
DeleteThat's the kind of fun journaling I could do in front of the TV--LOL! Love all the bright colors! Your valentine's dinner looks yummy! Happy T-Day! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's just where I did it Rita; in front of the tv, lol :o))
DeleteYour dinner looks yummy. Mo, there is a restaurant here that serves heart shaped biscuits during February.
ReplyDeleteThank you Boo. I'd buy some of those biscuits, lol :o)
DeleteWonderful jornal pages! We drink Coca Cola with lemon, never beer. We also eat pork ribs with lemon and we also have a drink called caipirinha which is made of lemon.I think we use lemon a lot here especially in our food: fishes, baked beans stew, pork, etc
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Karla. I like lemons and fresh lemonade. Your food sounds very nice to me :o)
DeleteLooks like a fine Valentine treat. I baked the hubby a heart shaped cake. : ) Never had beer and lemonade together. Love the anti journal pages! Have a great day! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you Angela, it was very tasty. How nice you baked hubs a cake, I bet he appreciated it. Try beer and lemonade one day, you may enjoy it too :o)) xox
DeleteHello and Happy T Day! Your dinner looks so good, how nice to hear the past Valentine goodies you've done. WOW, your journal is colorful and pretty!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and have a good week.
Many thanks for your sweet words Dawn. I enjoyed colouring the book :o)
