T for Tuesday

Hello everyone, it's Tuesday again, and we're in November already! Hasn't this year just flown by?! And even faster than usual in my opinion, but, hey-ho, that's life in the fast lane, hehe.
Now, as it is Tuesday, it's time to share a cuppa with the gang over at Elizabeth's.

I went  out to meet a friend last Thursday, but unfortunately something cropped up at the last minute and she couldn't make it; so there was I, 'Billy no Mates', wondering whether to just go home or go into the cafe on my own.

The call for caffeine grew, so in I went and got a nice seat by the window.

I enjoyed a lovely cappuccino and a fresh scone with butter and raspberry jam as I watched folks pass by outside.

Wishing you all a Happy T Day, whatever your favourite tipple may be.

Take Care
Be Happy

More Holiday Snaps and a Little Tea for Tuesday

Hello again everyone

I would like to share some more photographs from mine and Wee Man's Edinburgh holiday.
I don't know about you, but when I'm on holiday I like to have the odd treat or two, and Edinburgh was no exception.

There's a fabulous Cafe called Mimi's and on the recommendation of my son and his girlfriend we met them there.
I completely forgot to take any photos at all of our lunch or cakes as I was so in awe of the place.. But I did capture this one on the way out. I had a slice of the lemon meringue cheesecake on the top shelf there. It was so light, it was almost a mousse!
Oh, and I did get this photo of my coffee to show Elizabeth and the T gang (phew!)

The whole place is beautifully decorated and has cosy nooks with soft lounge seating and low tables.
I definitely recommend everyone to go there!
After lunch we went for a walk along the 'shore' and saw lots of swans. I can't say I've ever seen so many in one place before. Quite a few of them were still cygnets, but practically grown.
I also saw this quite near our hotel

And on another day we went to a place called Dynamic Earth

Dynamic Earth is a 5 star visitor experience which invites you to take a journey through time to witness the story of planet Earth. Through a series of interactive exhibits, state of the art technology and even a 4D encounter you will feel the heat of a bubbling volcano, face the chill of polar ice, fly across the globe before crash landing in a tropical rainforest. As if this wasn’t enough, Dynamic Earth is home to Scotland’s only 360 degree full dome film theatre. (from their website)
It is one of the most interesting places I have ever been, and much to my delight, Wee Man enjoyed it too.
We will go again.
Perhaps the most amazing thing there, for both of us, was a real iceberg!!
Not a giant one obviously, but real all the same.

Well now, I hope you have enjoyed seeing more of our holiday snaps, and you haven't fallen asleep by now, hehe.

Thank you so much for popping in.
Do take care, be well and be happy.

Tea on Tuesday and some

 Holiday Bits n Bobs

Hi everyone, Wee Man here :D
Me and granny are back from a few days holiday in Edinburgh, so we would like to share a few photos with you.
This is where we stayed. The staff were really nice and friendly.
Granny liked the tea and coffee things in our room.
One night granny had fish and chips and I had
Pizza.
We really enjoyed going on the trams
and we went past the depot.
There are 26 trams in Edinburgh and we found out that they can travel at 43mph (70kmh).
We went to a Build A Bear Workshop
where I made Goldie the Golden Retriever and High Springer the Springer Spaniel.
I loved seeing this bus; we didn't get to go on it, but we might next time.
I also enjoyed diving into the ball pit at Gambado's soft play centre.

Well that's all for now; I hope you enjoyed these pictures.
Granny will share this post with Elizabeth and her tea friends and she said she will do another blog post to show you some more photos of our holiday. I hope that's ok.

Bye for now

Hugs, Wee Man

and granny too :D

Café Olé or Café au lait?

Hello Everyone!

The other night my husband went to see his sister, (his Friday night ritual), and came home with a coffee maker. She was replacing it with a new one, even though this one is still in excellent and working condition;
but not being one for looking a gift horse in the mouth, I was excited to try it.
Now isn't that pretty :D And if you'd like to pop round I will be happy to make one for you too.
I'm delighted to be sharing this with the lovely ladies over at Elizabeth's for Tea on Tuesday.
Even though I haven't participated for a few weeks I have popped in and out when I could.
Now craft wise, I have been having some more fun being, 'inspired by'......
Number 7

Mondrian meets Modigliani.

Inspired by Kandinsky.

Inspired by Hieronymus Bosch.

Many thanks for your visit, I truly appreciate it.
Until next time, do take care,
and be happy.

T Stands for

Twice as Much of Everything

Hello Everyone,

I hope this finds you well and enjoying the start of a new week and a new month.

I am here today to share my T on Tuesday with Elizabeth and the T gang on Altered Book Lover, my Fruit themed tag for Tag Tuesday and the first two ICADs completed by me and Wee Man.

On Saturday, a new Community Cafe in town opened it's doors officially and my friend and I thought it only polite and proper to go and sample their wares. Just so we could report back to everyone else you understand. Very public minded of us don't you think? Hehehe

The Cafe was founded by a lovely gentleman called Ray who ensured it was pushed along and got lots of volunteers from builders merchants to bakers, to rally round to make it happen.
If you click on the image to enlarge it, you should be able to read it.
A banner on the High Street.

The place has a variety of seating from bar stools, to soft seating in a quiet corner and the usual wooden chairs and tables that can be rearranged to suit.
I like the wooden fork shaped table numbers and that it is table service here.
The place was simply decorated.
This is where the soft seating is but there was a family seated there. The young lady with the blue top is a volunteer.
The menu was quite varied
And I like that they have a children's section with stuff wee Man will enjoy

Meanwhile, I chose a cheese, onion and tomato sandwich on wholemeal bread. My friend had a baguette with the same filling. They both came with a wee side salad and crisps. and we had Lattes to drink.
Can you tell I nearly forgot to take photographs, lol
And of course we had to try some cake. I think I got the better deal here, hehe.
All in all a very tasty lunch. I hope the community gets behind this Community Cafe and make it a success for everyone.
Now, I wonder what the other T ladies have been up to this week. Hope to see you over there.

The theme at Tag Tuesday this week is Fruit
Here is the tag I created
I've had the background created for weeks, just sitting in the drawer and when I decided to try to draw a pineapple, I thought the patterns and colour were just right. I drew the pineapple with help from YouTube and used a Copic Multiliner pen. If you would like to see what other fruity tags my friends have created, then just click on the link above.

Wee Man and I are joining in with over 1300 other people doing the 5th Annual Index Card A Day challenge and here are our first two cards.
For day one, Wee Man did a self portrait, using wax crayons, on a spotty card and I followed the optional prompts and created a slightly doodled chevron pattern using promarkers and a black pen.

For day two, Wee Man made some patterns with Gelatos and a bit of water.
Here he is 'in the process'
And here is his card
and I used the prompts again and created a colourful Carnival card using various Sakura Jelly pens.
Looking forward to sharing some new Anti Journal pages with you tomorrow and my June page for The Craft Barn's Calendar Challenge.

Until then, bye for now and thanks for stopping by.
Stay well.
And be Happy.

A Wee Pre Warning and a Final Flutter

What is Coming up Over the Next Few Weeks

Hello Everyone
I hope I find you well and looking forward to a new week and a new month.

For many of us, June is a particularly busy crafting month, with the start of both the Summer of Color and the Index Card a Day challenges. Also known as SOC and ICAD respectively.

Wee Man and I are both doing ICAD together and I am also doing SOC.

Both of these start on June 1st, but don't let that stop you clicking on the links above, or on my sidebar, taking a look around and joining in at any point you like.
They aren't races or competitions; they are both for fun, stretching your imagination and are all about 'the doing'

Now, as well as the above, I am continuing with T on Tuesday with Elizabeth from Altered Book Lover and the rest of the 'T gang', Tag Tuesday and my fellow Taggers, and also with my weekly sharing of some Anti Journal pages with Carolyn and Karen.

Now the 'Wee Pre Warning' mentioned above, is just to let you know that my intent is to blog about everything as much as possible, some of the posts will be quite long, particularly on a Tuesday, and I'm hoping that you don't get fed up seeing this blog in your email or feed, perhaps, every day (now there's a challenge for myself huh?, Haha).

Oh, and I'm also here to ask if you will keep your fingers crossed that I don't drive myself demented? Will you?
Thanks ;-) Lol

Now, the final look, for this year, at our Painted Lady butterflies;
well actually it's just one; the last one of four that made it out into the big wide world to go make more duplicates of themselves, I hope.
The first three got swept briskly away on the wind, but this final one went on my hand and then I put it onto my wee Lilac bush.

Hope you enjoyed that. Did you see it 'dive in' for a drink? How marvellous and wondrous nature is.

Well, thank you for visiting;
stay well,
and be happy.
See you again soon (very, hehe)

T Stands for.......

.........Treats and another Tag

Hello Everyone!

It is Tuesday; and that means it's time for Tea with Elizabeth and friends over at Altered Book Lover. Well actually, as I write this, it's still Sunday, and FYI the caterpillars are still at the chrysalides stage. If that changes by Tuesday I will update this at the bottom ok? Ok. We are so excited there is potentially five Painted Ladies this time! :-D

Now then; on to business.
On Thursday and Friday of last week, Wee Man was off school for In-service days. We like it when there's no school, it means we can come and go as we please :-D
So on Thursday I decided to take him to the Premier Inn/Brewers Fayre in the next town for a lunch time treat; mainly because they have a soft play area indoors and a decent play area outside too, (in a secure area), and as it was a fine bright day, the doors to the outside area were open. Yay!
We travelled by bus of course; Wee Man's most favourite mode of transport.

The menus
were both quite good
Wee Man had Macaroni cheese, garlic bread and orange juice
and I had a toasted cheese and ham ciabatta with sides and my drink was Apple, Raspberry and Rose Water. No ice thank you. Delicious.
I knew my eternally sweet tooth wanted dessert so I took half the ciabatta home with me. (Good idea huh?) :-D

The desserts were, of course, delicious
Wee Man had strawberry ice-cream with chocolate sauce and a mini flake and I had a warm brownie and vanilla ice-cream with toffee sauce.
We both had more juice too.
We were there for a couple of hours altogether and then we got another bus back into town and then a further bus to take us home again.

The theme at Tag Tuesday this week is, 'Down on the Farm'

My tag is a bit of a mixed media piece

The background is watercolour for the sky and grass base. I used white acrylic for a couple of clouds. I then made an eraser stamp for grass to add a bit more texture, but I also cut some grass tufts from napkins that I glued along the bottom. I had the tissue paper rabbit from some happy mail which I coloured lightly with grey and the tissue paper butterfly, I coloured orange. The barn, fence and the animals are self adhesive foam stick-ons that Wee Man had. It was a fun make.

Now as promised earlier, I can update you with butterfly news.
We have three perfectly beautiful Painted Ladies!

Again, they managed to emerge without an audience, even though there are four people in this house looking at them regularly. I am a little disappointed not to have seen at least one actually emerge. But hey, it's all about the flutterbys, so, here is a picture for you to enjoy
I hope you can see the three of them.

Many thanks for looking.
Stay well. Be happy. {{Hugs}} Mo :o) x

PS - for those who also follow me on Facebook, you may have noticed I haven't been around. Well FB decided after x-number of years, that I should only be using my 'real name' for my profile, so they blocked my account. No warning. Nada. Nothing. So I can't even log in, in order to comply with these, never heard of before by me, rules.
I have joined Instagram here, if you would like to visit on occasion. Other than that, I think I may just stay around here.
xoxo
