T Stands for...........

................more cake and a lovely cup of coffee.

Hello there, I am very happy to be able to join in with T Stands for Tea on Tuesday with Elizabeth and the rest of the T gang this week, And as the title suggests I have been indulging in more cake eating - well I did admit that I find it hard to resist and it has been two weeks since my last slice. Gosh I sound like I'm in a confessional don't I, hehehe ;)

Anyway, to get back on track - I got to borrow my friends car whilst she was away on a course, so I took my son out to a lovely place a few miles out of town called Logie Steading. I chose this place because not only do they have an amazing second-hand bookshop, a gallery, a whisky shop and a garden shop, to name but a few, they also have a wonderful Cafe.

The Whisky shop exterior.

A new shop opened just a few weeks ago called Cairngorm Leaf and Bean. This shop sells loose and bagged teas, hot chocolate and fresh coffee beans too. They sell paraphernalia for tea and coffee drinkers and the aroma as you walk in is just delightful!

We browsed and sniffed and went to the cafe, (The Olive Tree Cafe), where we went upstairs and sat in comfort to enjoy our refreshments and discuss our choices.
Freshly brewed coffee and coffee cake.
My blog header is a photo I took of this wall decoration in the Olive Tree Cafe, I was delighted to see it and couldn't resist getting a snap of it.

After looking around the book shop, we went back to make our purchases.

One of my buys was the most flavourful peppermint tea I have ever had. I chose to get the ready bagged version which are pyramid shaped in some amazing gossamer light substance I've not seen before. i could drink this all day, hehe.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the other tea peeps are sharing this week.

I shan't be able to join in next week as I will be away on holiday with wee Man. So until we meet again, take care and thanks for popping in.

Anti Journal

Hi there to everyone, both new followers and those who have been around for a while. I welcome you to my little bit of blogland and thank you for visiting and leaving your lovely comments.

I have been working on some more prompts in my Anti Journal and hope you enjoy looking at them.

This page called for Different kinds of the same thing. I created a few different cups/mugs and then decided to add names of tea and coffee types. Now I see it here, I think I may go back and add some colour to the background. (carefully)

The prompt on this page was to Collage using the insides of used envelopes. I really enjoyed drawing and colouring various flower shapes and then glued them down.

I am looking forward to seeing what Carolyn and Karen have done this week.

Thank you so much for popping in.
Stay well and be happy {{Hugs}} :o) Mo x

Anti Journal

Social Experiment

The prompt I used this week was to send a message to my friends:-
What are you thinking right now? This is a social experiment for my Anti Journal
And then I was to record the responses. I sent my message via Facebook and waited to see if anyone would respond. Well the response was magnificent, and much more than I had dared to hope I would get.
I ended up with two A4 sheets printed out in a small font to fit the whole conversation on, (saving on printer ink dontcha know), otherwise it was four pages of text.
I then wrote out in smallish print, as much as I could to fill both my journal pages, taking over the next prompt, 'Highlighter Pens' page too.

I had the idea to use highlighter pens to highlight the end of each response and to respect privacy I have used only initials of respondents, except my own. Since I took this photo I have stuck a clear envelope onto one of the pages here and inserted the two printed sheets showing the full conversation.
I have already expressed my thanks, but would like to say again, a BIG thank you to all my Facebook friends who responded and took part.

Karen and Carolyn will be showing their latest, Wreck this Journal, pages today/tomorrow, so I shall be visiting them too. Feel free to follow along.

Thanks for visiting and until next time, take care won't you {{Hugs}} :o) Mo x

T Stands for.............

Treats on Tuesday

And this weeks treat was a delicious piece of carrot cake that my hubby brought home for me - even tho' I'm trying to watch that my weight does not creep any higher - he's not helping!
I could have said, "No thanks" right?
Wrong. I cannot say no to carrot cake. I struggle to say no to almost any cake, but carrot cake is my favourite. So of course I scoffed it and I enjoyed it. It was a very good one, but I got back on track the next day. Sorry to bore you with that. People watching their weight can be real food bores I know, so I do try not to be,
Anyhoo, enough twaddle on that subject; here is a photo of said indulgence alongside a lovely cup of Twinings, Winter Spice, tea,

I am sharing this with other the Tea on Tuesday suppers hosted by Elizabeth and Bleubeard.

Craft-wise this week I have been doing some more work in my Anti-Journal and taking part in Boo's 'De-stash Now' challenge that she hosts every Saturday. You can create anything you like, but you have to use at least one item that you've been hoarding, holding on to for at least one year.
You may not have seen these cards before as I only linked up on Facebook, because it's quicker. If you want to join in, feel free and we can visit each other to see what old stash we are all using up.

I made these from card kits that I started collecting in 2012 and didn't use, so Boo's challenge idea, was  the perfect nudge. In fact a friend had her birthday at the weekend just passed, so she got one of these cards from me, Yay for de-stashing!

So if you would like to join in with either event, just click on the links and see what they're all about.

Until next time, thanks for looking and TTFN

Anti Journal Pages

Collect Reds & Illegible Writing

They are the prompts on the two pages I'm showing you this week.

I enjoyed colouring in various shades of red Inktense pencils and collecting bits and bobs for that side of the spread and I enjoyed the writing element, except I don't think it's very illegible. I'm thinking I may go over it another time but write upside down over what I've already done.
At some point.
I may.
Or I may not.

If you are interested, you can click here to see what Karen has done in her journal this week and click here to check out Carolyn's.

Thanks so much for coming by; I hope you are well and enjoying some settled weather whatever it's temperature.

Until nest time, take care and be well.

Swirly Patterns

Hi everyone; today I put my art shirt on again and I painted some swirly patterns, and here they are....

Can you spot my name?........ :-D

I painted the patterns in lots of different colours with a painting sponge on a stick and my round brush.

When we pulled the plug out we realised that the sink was covered in paint again, but this time I think it was shaped like a peacock. What do you think?

Granny said she wanted to catch the colours so she put some paper on top of it before we washed it all away.

I don't know what she's going to do with them but she's definitely not going to throw them away.

I have been invited by Boo to link this to her De-Stashing challenge. Thank you Boo :-D

Until next time............
...........thanks for popping by to say Hi

My Cherry Garden

Hi everyone, Wee Man here :-D

Today I put on my painting shirt and did my first piece of art in a long time.........

.........and here it is.

I used my pots of paint and a round brush. I did the skyline first, then I did the soil and then I started the cherry bushes. The red cherries are the ones that are not quite ripe, but nearly. The purple ones are the ripe ones. There is only one bush of ripe cherries.
Next I painted some midges (little black flies). I added the midges because I wanted to add a little more detail to my painting.
I painted the sun in bright yellow and last but not least I did the clouds.

When we were cleaning up and pulled the plug out I realised that the bottom of the sink was covered in paint. We thought it looked pretty and it looked like a butterfly, so we took a picture to show you.

Until next time...........
thanks for popping by to say 'Hi' ((hugs)) from Wee Man :-D

Anti Journal

Stick an Envelope Here.....

.......Gather ephemera to use in your work.

That was the prompt for this page.
The envelope I stuck in was a junk mail one; I wanted to disguise that fact and also cover it's green nakedness with something interesting. I used some glue to stick it down and then added some of my favourite 'Book' washi tape.
Then I began doodling.
A lot. (Sorry Sue, lol)
First I did the flap side

Then the 'name & address' side.
I used my white Signo Uniball and my black Pitt Artist pens.

I also did another page where the prompt was, Let go of something

The hand was already drawn; I did everything else. For the background I put down a layer of gesso and then used my Koh-i-Noor paints and for the balloons and colouring of the hand, I used my Inktense pencils.

Karen and Carolyn have both been busy in their journals too.

Thanks so much for coming over. I'm looking forward to your lovely comments.

T Stands for

Sharing 'T' with Wee Man

The other day I got to borrow a friends car, so after school I took Wee Man to a local farm that has set up a play-barn with outdoor play equipment, indoors; a large slide/climbing frame, swings, a wooden pirate ship, scooters, sand pit, wendy house..........you get the picture I'm sure. It was a real treat for Wee Man to have a large space to run around in and interact with other children.

Of course there were drinks and cakes to be had too

which we would like to share with Elizabeth and the rest of the 'T on Tuesday' gang.

When it was time to leave we had a walk around the yard and stopped to say hello to the newest farm residents.

Cute huh? But this was as close as we dared go for fear of upsetting the very protective mothers.

If you want to share a post with us, make sure it contains something that holds or involves liquid and link up with us, here; we would all love to visit with you too.

By Wee Man

Hi everyone, Wee Man here :-D
I enjoyed making my first tag for Tag Tuesday last week so I wanted to do another one as well as join in with Tea on Tuesday with Elizabeth.
I thought it was strange that the theme is 'Anything But Paper' but granny explained it to me and gave me a few ideas of what I could do. I chose shrink plastic. Granny cut it to the same size as her big tags and I used her Promarkers to make some squiggly lines on it before we used the heat tool to shrink it. It works like magic making it much smaller but it went all squished up and granny had to get grandad to help with tweezers to pull it apart and then they put the big chopping board on top of it to make it flat and it is now 3.5 x 1.75 inches.

I coloured the string with Royal Blue pen.
If you want to see granny's metal tag you can go to Tag Tuesday.

That's all for now. Bye.
Hugs from Wee Man
and Granny of Course
:-D

The Craft Barn

Calendar Challenge

The Craft Barn have added the link for the new month's challenge, and the two words for March are Yellow and Rabbit(s)

If you would like to join in, you can see the rules here

As with January and February, I wanted to use my gelatos.  I found my Easter/Spring stencil and daubed the lemon gelato through the rabbit stencils then spread it with my finger. I know it looks green in the photo but I promise it is Lemon;

I can only assume it is a mixture of poor daylight and the black base that makes it look green.
I added some flowers and butterflies also in the lemon gelato, and I stamped a 'sun' flower also with the gelato. I used a silver Pilot pen to do some outlining and for stencilling March on to the page. I added some washi tape fencing, a metallic bee and butterfly and some 'grass' strands in the hope the rabbits don't look like they're floating mid air, hehe.

I stamped the sentiment, Happiness is a state of mind from Rubber Dance Stamps, in a silver ink from Hobbycraft.

Finally I added some clear Wink of Stella to the butterflies, some orange Wink of Stella rays radiating from the sun and I splattered white WoS over the page.

Thank you so much for coming by; I hope you will leave a comment, they always make me smile.
Take care, be well, and be happy, ((hugs)) :o) Mo x
